In Sep, 2009, Seven friends established the Preparatory Committee in Montery Park after planning for a short period of time, which later became “Sun Yat sen International Foundation”--a non-profit organization after application approval, for the purpose of “Universal Harmony” proposed by Confucius, and Sun Yat sen’s dream of “Serve the Public” . In the day of foundation, more than 100 people from various fields attended the ceremony and gave us various suggestions, which is heartly touching and grateful.

After the Foundation is established, a luncheon is going to be held in a fixed date in Friday every month to enhance interpersonal relationship. The activities include: semi-official report, introduction of new members, speeches on special topics, and entertainments like music and dancing, touring, academic seminars, etc, which are quite enjoyable.

The Foundation now has more than 600 members. In terms of organizational structure, there is a council and board of supervisors, both composed of 9 to 15 people; one chief council, chief supervisor, and chairman; two to three vice councils and vice supervisors. In additional, there are also positions of honorary council, honorary supervisor, honorary chairman, vice chairman…to encourage elite of the society to join our team. To ensure the stable function of the organization, we also set board of secretaries. During the past 3 years, we have made our own statute, songs, flag, emblem, uniforms. etc.

In the ceremony, the first large activity held by the Foundation, we published the first issue of the journal of our organization, which is expected to be published regularly in the future, for publicizing organization purpose, providing information, maintaining world peace, opposing nuclear threats, eliminating wars, preserving ecology, encouraging charities, serving to educate the society.
