Active Ingredients
- Glucosamine Sulfate is an amino sugar naturally produced by the body from
glucose and sulfur. Sulfur is essential to healthy joints. It is a major
building and rebuilding component of cartilage, tendons and ligaments. Both
Glucosamine and Chondroitin are natural components of cartilage and connective
tissues. Replacing lost or low production of glucosamine can help maintain and
in most cases, regenerate joint tissues. Many studies have shown dramatic
regeneration of joint tissues and improved production of joint fluids with the
use of glucosamine sulfate.
- Type II collagen, a triple helix molecule, is the principal structural protein in cartilage that is responsible for its tensile strength and toughness. Sometimes the body’s immune system mistakes type II collagen in human joints as a foreign invader and sends antibodies to attach and destroy the collagen, which can adversely affect joint mobility and flexibility. This condition is coined as autoimmune diseases. Recent studies at Harvard University Medical School have shown that small doses of Undenatured type-II Collagen (UCII) derived from chicken cartilage works with the human immune system to prevent the body from attacking its joints.

- Study 1: In the first Harvard study, six of ten patients taking
undenatured type II collagen for three months showed substantial improvement,
while one patient recovered completely. In addition, there were no side
effects.

- Study 2: In a 90-day, double-blind, placebo-controlled, follow-up
study on patients with severe rheumatoid arthritis, 28 patients taking

- Study 3: A third Harvard study showed that after three months of
treatment with undenatured type II collagen, eight of ten patients with

- Study 4: A fourth Harvard study showed that, following treatment
with undenatured type II collagen, 21 of 54 arthritis patients (39%) who met
the cumulative Paulus criteria (morning stiffness, joint tenderness, joint
swelling and erythrocyte sedimentation rate) demonstrated significant
improvement, while only 11 of 57 patients (19%) taking a placebo showed
improvement.

- Study 5: Two studies out of Germany have reported similar results.
In the first study, there was “a higher prevalence of responders in the type
II collagen-treated groups: seven responders in the 10-mg type II collagen
group and six in the 1-mg group, versus four in the placebo group.
Furthermore, three patients in the 1—mg group and one patient in the 1-mg
group and no patients in the placebo group, had very good response.

- Study 6: In the second German study, 1mg and 10 mg doses of
undenatured type II collagen results in reduced collagen type II antibody

showed that the 10 mg dose level was more effective than the 1 mg dose level.

I was diagnosed with the first phase osteoporosis eight years ago when I went to Taiwan for vacation. At an age of 46 then, I was having a bone age of 52 and was suggested to take calcium-rich food to compensate the calcium loss.
Since then I have taken various calcium-rich foods and vitamins and when I went to my doctor last year, I was told that my osteoporosis didn’t get worse. I was very happy with the result.
